IMPROVE YOUR BRAND AWARENESS

Boost your brand awareness to get the most from your marketing efforts, customers and revenue

Brands insert themselves into people’s lives and this is demonstrated through the loyal choices they make i.e. Costa or Starbucks, Nike or Adidas, McDonalds or Burger King. Customers are loyal to you and your brand and will be your customers time and time again without a second thought if you get it right.

Your brand is one of your greatest assets and giving it a boost every now and again will help you to really engage with your target audience, nurture those customer relationships and create that really important brand loyalty.

By realising your true objective it enables you to create an emotional connection with your audience through building effective communications material with memorable visuals and unique storytelling.

Brand Awareness Creates Association

When you need to clean the carpet you may use your Hoover or Dyson, you probably never say vacuum. When you want to clarify an important fact you’ve Googled it, you don’t say look it up on a search engine and when you want a drink you’ve asked for Coke or Sprite not cola or lemonade.

The words that you have chosen to use are brands.  And even though you may not be using a Hoover or Google, or have got a Pepsi or a 7Up instead, you still use these words to describe a specific product.  That’s what brand awareness does. It associates actions and products with particular brands, subconsciously encouraging us to replace common words with branded terms.

Define yourself not your company name

Branding is the expectations people have about you before they do business with you and the experiences they have when they do that form your reputation.

Think of your brand as a person. We are all individual with different needs, beliefs, values and drive which characterizes who we are and how we behave in different situations and it’s fundamental that you have this understanding of your brands identity too.

Your brand is one of your greatest assets. It’s not just your logo, slogan and design scheme, but your customers’ total experience of your business. Your brand is in your customer promise, your business values, your personality and the way you talk to your customers. It’s in the way you package your service and communicate.

Likening to a person and who are the people you aspire to.  Think of the brands that that you aspire too along with your values and aspirations of your business.  All these factors help you to establish and capture the essence of the brand.

Be Sociable

To raise awareness of your brand, you must be social.  Ensure you post to your social media about things unrelated to your product or services. Sharing these types of images with your followers speaks volumes. Integrate images that show your human side to create stronger connections with your followers. Interact with your audience by asking questions, commenting on posts, or retweeting or sharing content you like. You’re promoting engagement as well using it as a method of getting feedback.  Make your followers feel valued and ensure you reply to any comments they may have made.

Tell a Story

If you want to build a successful business and loyal customers you have to start with your story. Your story is far more that what is written in the copy of website or the text in your brochures, it’s also what people believe about you based on the signals your brand sends. The story is a complete picture made up of facts, feelings and interpretations.  Everything you do, every element of your business the look and feel of your brand, from the colours, the logo your tone of voice to you as a person and the staff you may have is all part of your brand story.

Ensure to speak to your customers with a consistent tone.  Everything that your customer sees, feels, touches and experiences about your product and business must be consistent.  You need to “control” everything your customer sees and hears about you and the story and message is consistent. This information gives you customers the ability to evaluate quality, value, and what to expect from your product or service.

Measure your Brand Awareness Success

Brand awareness can’t be measured as such in the normal sense. But, you can still review your activities.

Direct traffic is the result of people intentionally typing in your URL and visiting your website. This can tell you if your marketing is prompting people to visit your website. This is so important as so many consumers today discover brands through social media, advertisements, or by typing in keywords related to your brand or product.

You can review your social media analytics on a regular basis to see what’s worked well and what hasn’t.  Take note of trends which you can then learn from. What were the hashtags, day, time of posts and photos you got the most likes from?
